Uh Oh.........

I think I may have some competition in the cuteness department. My cousins that live across the river got Aunt Lisa to send some pictures to put on the blog. My Mom keeps telling me not to be jealous but she's never bought me such fancy outfits so I don't think she understands. Take a look:

The reindeer is my cousin Elle and Santa Claus is my cousin Charlie. I wonder how they convinced their Mom to get such fancy outfits. All I have are a couple of sweaters. I think I'm feeling underappreciated at the moment. Sigh.

sketches

Mom found some sketches of some of us and a friend. This is Reilly. He's not with us anymore (actually, I never got to dazzle this handsome boy - he was gone a long time before I was born). Mom still talks about him though. He must have been special.

Now here's an acrobatic daredevil that I absolutely love! Guess who? Boomer! I'd like to think I've dazzled him a time or two........

And here's one of yours truly. Notice my golden aura surrounded by fiery orange. I'm not sure what it means but I bet it's good........

And this is Sadie. She stays with us when her parents go away. I still can't figure out why anyone would leave their kids. My mom said it's because they're going to someplace called Finland. Huh? I guess dogs are not allowed in Finland. Weird.

Yuck!

It's apparent now that Poncho ate more bad stuff yesterday than any of the rest of us. He's been tooting all night and it's enough to clear the room. Even the big dogs weren't that bad! Mom made him sleep in his own bed and he was not happy! Poor Special Ed!!

OH NO!

Well, we're all in trouble except for Ruthie (goody two-paws). Our dad came home early today and found that Boomer, Kenzie and Gwenny had broken out of the backyard. They somehow managed to open the front door to the house (I'm not ratting anyone out here - Gwenny) and let me and Poncho out into the neighborhood. Plus they got in the house and ate a whole loaf of bread (and most of the plastic). Here's all that was left:

Now I'm not saying that Poncho and I didn't eat any of the bread but we were outside when Dad got here. Of course, I may have given it away when I threw up a little while ago and clearly it was a crust of bread but by the time Mom rushed over I ate it to hide the evidence (Thank GAWD I'm a dog and can do stuff like that). So she might not have noticed. Next time I'll have to go to a different room if I have to throw up (I'm so clever).

Handsome Boy

I have to admit, Poncho is quite a looker. Don't ever tell him that I said that though. He'll never let me live it down...........

It's finally warming up outside so we get to go out today without our sweaters. That's good news for Poncho - he looks terrible in his. I, on the other hand, totally rock the whole sweater look. Maybe Mom will let me wear mine if I shiver a whole bunch to make her think I'm cold. I'll have to think of something exciting like food, or chasing Gwenny in the house, or playing with Kiki. That's it! Playing with Kiki always gets me going!

Stylin' the Winter Look

Brrrrrrr! It's cold outside! Its never been this cold here since I've been alive. Mom won't let us go outside unless we're wearing a sweater. Of course, I look pawsitively ruffishing but I think Poncho looks like a wimpy college boy. Just look:

See what I mean? He looks like a total geek with highwaters on.
Well, we're off for our walk. There's a stuck up Chihuahua down the street named Angel and she's going to be soooooo jealous when she sees my outfit!

Poncho's Nemesis

Oh my God! I almost forgot! Here's Poncho's Nemesis........... he doesn't know that it's just a photo, he thinks it's my brother and that it's going to jump on him (ree hee hee!). I crack up every time he flips on his back when he sees the picture. I don't even have to make sound effects - all it takes is for him to see it. I don't have the heart (or desire) to tell him its not a real dog. Maybe someday he'll figure it out.......................

Keep it real (ruff and tough is my motto)................!!

Meerkat Manor

Thought I'd put a couple of photos on here of Poncho doing his meerkat impression. They're a little dark and blurry but I think you'll get the picture...........

Just wanted to get it on the record that Poncho is a psycho that thinks he's a meerkat. I really shouldn't be surprised since he always was a little off.

Rare Sighting

Sorry for the loooong hiatus but Mom started a new job in September and she hasn't had time to log on for me (I can't quite manage the latch on our laptop yet - pawsitively frustrating!). Anyway, just thought I'd share this picture. It's a very rare phenomenon known as "Gwenny Not Moving". It only happens 2 times a year or so. So it's a pretty exciting find.

Gwenny is the white one with freckles. Her older sister, Kenz, lays down all the time so it's nothing new to see her like that. Gotta run.........Mom's making chicken and dumplings for dinner so I should get in place to catch any scraps before Poncho does. His latest thing now is that he thinks he's a meerkat so he walks around on his hind legs in the kitchen. That gives him a height advantage over me so I have to be extra sharp!

Sticks and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

Thought I'd give you an update on Poncho (aka Ed). He has now decided that he wants to be on Mom every time she sits or lays down. He likes to curl up under her neck which can be tough if Mom's sitting straight up. He gets around this by trying to climb up and drape himself on her shoulder. What a geek! Of course, all I have to do is give him the 'look' and he jumps down. But now he's figured out that if he just turns his head away from me I can't make eye contact with him and he thinks he's safe. Talk about acting like an ostrich putting it's head in the sand...... as if ignoring me ever made me just go away. I have a couple of ideas about how to take care of this: number 1: I'll just... Dangit! I hear him eating something........ I'll be right back.

Ok, back! What was I doing? Was I chewing on a stick? Yeah, that must have been it. Let me get back to it before one of the big dogs takes it and buries it.

Bark at you soon!

Special Ed

Poncho (who Daddy now calls "Special Ed") has officially lost his mind. Somewhere in his little pea brain he has decided that he's allowed to sleep next to me on Mom. He's too squirmy when he goes to sleep and moves about 100 times before finally settling down. This is soooooo annoying. Then, last night, when I popped up (with the covers still on me) to tell him to be still, he must have thought I was a ghost or something because he jumped up and ran right over Mom's head (banging her nose) and took off. I guess it was kind of cool because he went to sleep in his own bed after that. Maybe he'll stick to his own bed from now on. I can only hope.......
Mom just told me a horrible story about some people that don't take care of their kids. She said maybe I could put a link on my blog to try and help the kids so here it is:

Snake Charmers

Whewff! That was an exciting night! Kenz and Ruth both got bit by a copperhead last night. Kenz got bit on the nose and somehow Ruth got bit on the leg. Boomer was the only big dog that didn't get bit and he's the one who always finds them! Poor Ruth couldn't even walk on her leg and Kenz cried last night when she tried to lay her head down to sleep. Poor girls! I thought Kenz had learned her lesson but I guess since this is the 6th time she's been bitten, she's not going to stop hunting them anytime soon. She usually catches the snake before Mom and Dad can get out there and boy does she take care of them. There are always multiple pieces that have to be picked up - eewwwww!

I guess now I understand why Mom won't let me and Poncho out in the evening or at night during the summer. I just thought she was being mean because one of my favorite things to do is go "swimming" in the monkey grass. But that's where the big kids keep finding snakes. Oh well, Mom gave them some medicine last night and they were both a little better this morning. Thank goodness it was just a baby snake this time. Last time Kenz got bit by a big one she was sick for days.

Mom started me on some new food the other day and boy is it good! She thinks maybe I'm getting fat from eating too much but I think it's the perfect amount. She says I'm driving her crazy about food because I keep pushing my bowl around but how else am I supposed to tell her I want more? She can't speak dog and I can't speak human (yet) so it's up to me to find a solution. What can I say? Pushing the bowl usually works :)

My Favorite Things

Well that was a great weekend! I got to do my 2 favorite things in the whole world all weekend: eat and sleep! And Poncho got what was coming to him when he wouldn't stop bothering me. He kept standing on the big pillow in front of me and barking at me to get up. He barks like a girl so it gets annoying pretty fast. He barked so hard that he knocked himself off the pillow and fell over! I think he was embarassed because he stopped after that (thank goodness).

And some more good news: Gwenny doen't have mange!!!! Yea!!! I can stop itching now. She has some sort of skin infection and she's on medicine to fix it. I guess that's what happens when you start out life as a homeless dog..........I still don't want her touching any of my stuff though.

Oops, gotta run.......I hear Poncho eating something

Announcement

Well, I have some interesting news.............Mom thinks it's official and that Poncho and I are going to be parents soon. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Poncho being able to handle this kind of responsibility. I mean, he's really been annoying me ALOT lately and he won't give me any extra food which any good father would do, right? Plus, he still cries like a baby when I get mad at him. Mom thinks it's just the hormones that are making me feel this way but I'm not so sure. All I know is I want another nap. Right now.

Oh and apparently Gwenny has mange - like, EEEWWWWW! Mom tried to tell me that all dogs carry this bug but only some get an infection blah, blah, blah. She better not touch any of my stuff. I already feel itchy just thinking about it. Definitely time for a nap.

Troublemaker

Guess who's in trouble? (Hint: I don't have any white on my legs - see previous post)

Almost Forgot!

And of course we need to include a picture of me.......... That's my special pillow that Poncho is not allowed to touch. He won't let me on his bed so he doesn't get to touch my pillow. He may be bigger than me technically but my mom says it's all about attitude and I have way more than he does. He's never won a fight yet.

Ruthie and Poncho and Gwenny

Got a few new family portraits to post. This is Gwenny. She's just a puppy so we have a hard time getting good pictures of her. She never stops moving (or biting). Someone dumped her in our barn when she was only 7 weeks old! I guess I'll never understand some humans.

This cutie is Poncho. He's my on-again off-again boyfriend. Sometimes he acts so goofy that I'm embarassed for him.

And this is Ruth. She's my biggest sister. She doesn't really like to have her picture taken anymore (I think it's because she's embarassed about all the grey hair).

MacKenzie and Boomer

Hi, thought I'd start putting some pics of my family up here.

This is MacKenzie, my big sister. She's kind of the mother of us all (at least that's what she seems to think). She can be bossy sometimes but she's really a sweetheart.

This handsome devil is Boomer. He's my one true love.

Unbelievable

I wouldn't belive this unless I saw it with my own 2 eyes - somebody has left ANOTHER animal at our house and it's taken up residence in the barn (that's how we got Gwenny, my youngest sister). Somebody sure has my mom figured out. It wouldn't be such a big deal except that this time it's a CAT. And I don't like the way she looks in the front windows at night. I've been telling her off every time she does it but she must not speak "dog" because she keeps on doing it. I guess I'll have to find some other way to persuade her............

We have company coming over tonight so I have to run now - I need to conserve my energy. Being the center of attention is soooooooo tiring! My mom taught me a new trick last week so I'll definitely be performing. Wish me luck!
